COUNTDOWN BEGINS!
Firstly terribly apologetic for not blogging so often. It’s been a crazy few weeks, I’ll explain why later. Landed in Hyderabad to shoot the last schedule of Desire day before yesterday. It’s a film I’m so looking forward to as a lot of effort has gone into it’s making and a different genre for me to experiment with as well… Anyway coming to why I’m actually writing today, I have some great news to share with you, as promised I would personally give you the good news… So here it is — This is it, YES, THE WEDDING DATES ARE FINAL and celebrations begin from the 21st November with the Wedding on the 22nd and the Reception on the 24th. PHEW! Okay, I said it. So these are the real dates (now the press can stop speculating). The last two weeks have only gone into preparations. It was a huge decision and there were a lot of logistical problems mainly because of lack of time and venues… Now all that’s in order, I can breathe a sigh of relief. The past week has been full of meetings, meetings and more meetings, since I’m shooting in Hyderabad, everything had to be done before I’d left for this schedule. In the midst of Odissi rehearsals (can you believe it! ‘cause I am shooting for a song here, ha ha! ), guests list, hotel arrangements, wedding planners, trousseau outfits, the list is never ending. There’s a lot of work to be done and I will be shooting and dubbing till a week before the wedding. Got to finish all work commitments before I leave for a month after the wedding. C’est la vie! To all those who want to know how I am feeling, I just want to say – I’m going through a lot of mixed feelings – happiness, excitement, nervousness, just like any bride to be and sadness as well, I miss my sister and hoping that she’ll be out soon in my last few days at home. My parents are ecstatic and doing everything to make things perfect on my special day, absolutely adore them! Honestly it still hasn’t sunk in completely, it’s a strange emotion, can’t describe it… The only consolation is that I’m tying the knot with “Raj” – a man who lets me be myself and doesn’t want me or my life to change, that erases premarital jitters. Obviously marriage is a huge step and with it comes responsibilities, and since I believe in the institution, so I hope and pray that I can make “ours” a success. Thank you so much for all your best wishes. I’ve overcome and survived all hurdles with your good wishes and God’s blessings. Will keep you posted. Pray for me because I am on the threshold of a new beginning. So just two weeks to go, the countdown begins!! Love to you all!

OMG!! It’s actually official!! Can’t believe you’re getting married! Really happy for you, after watching you all these years since I was 9 years old when Baazigar released, to today! This is probably the best time in your life, and I’m so glad you can share it here with all your fans!
Well at least you will be in UK a lot more, so I’ll have more chance of seeing you
The only thing is Shamita, I think she’s in for a real chance of winning Bigg Boss, and even if she doesn’t win, she’s being watched by so many people, and the fact that she has an amazing personality, Bigg Boss would surely help her career. Obviously she has to attend the wedding, and you must have chosen this date very carefully, but can she not be allowed to come out for the week before the wedding, then let back into the house? Try to pull some strings with Colors! you’re on good terms with them!

salam/namaste shilpa how are? I am asif from the united kingdom hope you are all well. It shows on your blog that you are running around like mad sorting everything out for your own wedding. Your family members mum dad sis cousins uncles aunties film friends etc should be organising everything like clothes, jewelerry, reception, food and all the hundreds of things to do for ya wedding they all should be busy doing all this and you should be chilling out and relaxing its like you organising for some one else’s wedding lol. Congratulations for your Engagement!! But I am sorry to say that I am not feeling that great for your Wedding Day.. Reason - Shamita is not there with you.. I know you are missing her too, there would have been many reasons behind selecting the date so early, I have no right to say in this matter.. But if I was in your place I would have waited for her to come out - “What The Heck”.. You are committed to Raj, so you can wait for another 4-5 months if there is no date or Mahurat in between.. Atleast have your sister besides you.. She must be having some plans or something for this marriage.. And don’t even think about calling her back from Bigg Boss House as she’s doing so great.. I am just feeling bad for shamita..
But who m I to say anything.. Some aiwai type ladka.. Anyways.. Preparations are ON..

Congratulations to you and Raj on your engagement and forthcoming marriage. I have always admired your acting and ofcource your trim figure which is I guess every indian woman envies. No gain without pain and I am sure you must be taking great pain in achieving it all. Just like you, I am a mangalorean as well and have one sister and we are very close even though both of us live in two different countries. I am sure your sister would have given you all her support during your good and trying times. Now it is her time to prove herself in the bigg boss house and she is doing a wonderful job. I wonder why you choose this time to get engaged when she is not around to celebrate it with you and we can see the turmoil she is going through wondering what is happening in her absence. This was her time of glory and you all should have atleast given her the chance. We are not great believers in astrology and feel that anytime is good time. I am a big fan of you… Not only for being a gorgeous heroine, but for being a strong woman who fights aganist all odds and bounces back with double the strength. I watch Big Boss regularly and love the innocence of Shamita too… Just wanted to say, please make sure she is there for your wedding… I know there must be a strong reason for making it so early, but Shamita is never going to take it easy for the life time if she misses your wedding.. I know you both share an unconditional love, like most of us out there, but still it she may find it difficult to digest… think about the fact that after the wedding you are gonna be in ur own world more than ever!!!!! pleeeaasseee have Shamita with you.

I just wanted to tell you that I love you as an actress & wish you would do more films, I miss seeing you on screen dearly. I think you’re one of the most under rated actresses that we have in India. And while reading your blog, I was like Oh my gosh, Im feeling the same way.. I can absolutely understand all the panic happening around.. and they are never ending until the moment of your wedding.. and Im looking fwd to ur wedding pics to take a few tips on How to make a Perfect Bride.. Though, I was quite surprised to know that Shamita wouldnt be around for your wedding.. In fact while watching Big Boss I found myself in tears when she found out about ur wedding.. I am a sucker for emotions that way.
